The account and the math
A Google Ads campaign answers one question fast: what a call costs. The management fee runs from $500 a month, plus ad spend, and the ad budget stays yours. The first job is to make the account readable: who owns it, what a click buys and which campaign produced the call. Lithium Marketing runs that work for service businesses in Auburn, and the account is in your name from the start, with your billing and your history, and it stays yours if the work stops.
The median home in Androscoggin County was built in 1969, so repair and replacement work is where the page copy should start: a furnace, a roof, a panel. A campaign that names those jobs on the landing page gives a customer something to recognize before they call.
The page we checked
When we checked “plumber auburn me”, no ads showed and the local listings held the top of the page. That is one search on one day, and it is the kind of reading that decides where a first month of budget goes: a page with no ads on it is worth a test, and a page full of them is a different decision.
On that Auburn page, the three local listings carried 35, 79 and 12 Google reviews, and a customer who taps an ad may look at that map before deciding. A campaign that counts only clicks misses that second stop, which is why the report counts calls and forms, not clicks.

The Auburn market
59.1% of Auburn's occupied homes are owner-occupied, which leaves a share of renters, and for those calls a landlord may need to approve the work. A landing page should ask who can authorize the repair, because that answer decides whether the call turns into a job.
Auburn has 429 people per square mile. Auburn covers 59.342 square miles of land, so a radius drawn around the shop can reach a lot of ground. Draw it around the jobs you take, and give the towns past it their own line in the budget.

Trades in Androscoggin County
Androscoggin County has 45 electrical contractors and 14 roofing contractors, and the two need very different campaigns: a panel upgrade is planned weeks out, a roof leak is not. The account should split them, with a campaign, a budget and a landing page for each.
The small trades need their own math: Androscoggin County has 3 pest control companies and 4 septic tank services. Those campaigns need a page that names the job and the towns covered, and a budget sized to what the job is worth.

The first month
Tracking goes in before the budget moves, and the campaigns follow the jobs your crews can take.
Your billing, your history and your conversion data sit in an account you own, whether Lithium starts fresh or works inside one you already have.
Call tracking, GA4 and conversion tags are installed before the first campaign, so the first report opens with calls and forms, not impressions.
Each job you want gets its own campaign and landing page, with search terms and ad text built around that job.
For the first 30 days, bids and search terms are reviewed every day; after that the review moves to weekly.
What every Google Ads account includes
The same eight parts go into every Google Ads account, wherever the business is.

Enough to buy the calls you want at a price the jobs can carry. A roofer chasing replacements needs a larger monthly budget than a painter chasing repaints, and both need enough to leave a campaign running long enough to read. We set the first month together and change it when the report has real numbers.
Tracking is live before the first campaign, so week one gives you the first calls to read. Weeks two through four are subtraction: drop the search terms that bring clicks and nothing else, and move that money to the ones that bring calls. Cost per lead is a number to read after that, not on day one.
There is a six-month starting term, because the first months are where search terms and cost per lead settle. After the first six months it runs month to month, and 30 days' notice is all it takes to end it. The written agreement carries the rest of the terms and the fee, and you see both before the account opens.
A second channel can help. Lithium runs Microsoft Ads and Meta ads on Facebook and Instagram, and one of them is worth adding when your customers already spend their time in that feed. Google comes first because the searches are there, and a new channel has to show in the report that it returns more than it costs.
Yours. The account, the billing and the conversion history carry your business name, so the data stays with you if the work ever stops. If there is no account yet, Lithium opens one in your name before the first campaign.
