Business Profile stuck in processing? How to move a pending verification.

Figure out what your status means, stop doing the things that keep a profile stuck and know exactly what to send Google support.

  • What each status means
  • Mistakes that restart the clock
  • A support request that works

Read the status first

What “processing” can mean on your profile.

To unfreeze a Google Business Profile stuck in processing, confirm exactly what the profile says, give the review the time Google’s help page states, avoid editing or resubmitting while it is under review, fix whatever Google flags and contact Business Profile support if nothing changes. Most stuck profiles fall into one of these states:

  • Under review or pending. You finished the verification step and Google is checking it. This is normal.
  • A list of problems. Google looked at your video and found something missing. It lists what.
  • A prompt to verify again. Google couldn’t fully verify the business and may offer another method.
  • Suspended. A different problem with its own notice and appeal. See our suspension guide .

Write down the date you completed verification and the exact message you see. Google’s verification guidance gives the current review window for each method. A delay inside that window doesn’t mean anything is wrong.

Match the fix to the message

What to do for each status.

Still under review, inside Google’s stated window. Wait. Check your email, including spam, for messages from Google about the profile. Don’t touch the name, address or category.

Still under review, well past that window. Check the profile against Google’s guidelines (next section), then contact support with the details listed below. Don’t submit a second video on top of the first unless Google asks.

A list of problems after a video. Read every item Google lists. Most rejections come down to missing location context, no proof you manage the business or footage that is too dark or shaky to judge. Check the video requirements , plan the missing shots with our video verification script and record again.

A prompt to verify again. Google couldn’t complete verification with what it has. Choose from the methods it now offers and follow the on-screen steps.

No verification option available. If the profile offers no method at all, go straight to Business Profile support and ask what the business needs to do to continue.

Stop resetting the clock

Mistakes that keep a profile stuck.

Owners often keep their own profile stuck by trying to help it along. Avoid these:

  • Editing during review. Changing the name, address or primary category can send the profile back to the start.
  • Creating a second profile. A duplicate for the same business can get both profiles flagged.
  • Resubmitting the same video. If it was rejected once, the same footage will be rejected again.
  • Keywords in the name. “Smith Plumbing Portland Emergency Drain Cleaning” invites extra scrutiny. Use the real name.
  • An ineligible address. P.O. boxes, mailbox stores and virtual offices don’t qualify. Service-area businesses should hide their address.
  • A phone or website that doesn’t match. A number that goes to voicemail under a different name, or a website for another company, makes the business hard to confirm.

Compare your profile line by line with Google’s representation guidelines . If you work from home or a shop customers don’t visit, read our guide to verifying a service-area business as well.

When waiting isn’t working

How to contact Google support about verification.

If the review window has passed and nothing has changed, use Google’s Business Profile support page and choose the verification topic. Send one clear request with everything support needs to act:

  • The business name and the Google Account that manages the profile.
  • The Business Profile ID, which you can find in the profile’s settings.
  • The verification method you used and the date you completed it.
  • A screenshot of the exact message the profile shows now.
  • A short note on the business: what you do, where you operate from and whether customers visit.

Have your proof ready in case support asks for it: a business license or registration, a utility bill or bank statement in the business name, photos of your signage or work vehicle. Save the case number, answer from the same email thread and don’t open a new ticket for the same problem while one is open.

Support can tell you what is holding the profile up and what to do next. It can’t promise a date.

Once it clears

Lock in the profile after it’s verified.

When verification goes through, finish the profile: services, description, hours, photos and your first review requests. Our Business Profile setup guide covers each step in order.

Then keep the core facts stable. Every change to the name, address or category gets a closer look from Google. Add owners and managers through People and access so you never share a password; the manager access guide shows how.

If you’d rather hand the profile off, Business Profile setup and upkeep are part of Lithium’s SEO service . We’ll tell you straight what we see on your profile; we won’t promise you a date that only Google controls.

Call (503) 766-5964 or email [email protected].

How long does Google Business Profile verification take?

Anywhere from the same day to several business days, depending on the method. Phone, text and email codes can verify the same day, a manual review of a video can take several business days or longer, and a postcard depends on the mail.

Can I edit my profile while verification is pending?

Hold off on changing the name, address or category until the review finishes. Those changes can restart the review. Small fixes like a typo in your hours can wait a few days too.

Should I delete the profile and start over?

No. A new profile for the same business creates a duplicate, which is a common reason for suspensions. Work through the existing profile and contact support if it stays stuck.

Does processing mean my profile is suspended?

No. A pending review is a normal step. A suspension comes with its own notice and an appeal process, so you will know if that is what happened.

Can an agency speed up my verification?

No agency has a faster line into Google’s review. A good one can check your profile for problems and help you prepare proof and a clear support request.
